BICACON hosts Mr Brian Sharplin of MWH
In August BICACON had the honour of hosting Mr Brian Sharplin, an asset management guru from MWH, New Zealand. Mr B. Shaplin was visiting as a result of a partnership agreement finalised with MWH by our Chairman, during an asset management study tour in New Zealand
In 2001, he joined the global firm MWH, and has since then been assisting Councils to implement new policies and meet mandatory long-term planning and legislative requirements. However during 2007-2012, he spent a lot time in United States of America working on asset management.
He has also, since 1990, written and reviewed numerous asset management plans prepared by other practitioners. In all of these positions, he has been at the leading edge of Strategic Infrastructure Asset Management – his particular interest being the design and implementation of systems and processes to achieve the delivery of more effective, efficient and sustainable services.
Mr B. Sharplin is a world renowned guru and he has a lot to share; his involvement with our team on Asset Management is of great reward not only to Bicacon but to the Asset Management Industry as whole; his infrastructure asset management career in New Zealand spans a period of over 40 years, twenty seven of which he spent as the CEO of a local authority.
